Stuart's Top Ten Places to Eat Steak!

1: Max Downtown - Hartford, Ct - Just had the bone in 18 oz filet - Just an amazing piece of tender meat you will ever have! The deserts were out of this world also. Everything was excellent including the service. VERY HIGH PRICES is the only fault. (8/16/2008)

2: Bobby Van's, Had wonderful meals at both Washington, D.C. locations. Everything was great from start to finish. Filet was perfectly cooked and tender. Onion rings were crispy and sweet. (Sept. 2009)

3: The Steakhouse - Rt 1 - Wells, ME - Steak was perfectly prepared and very tasty. Reasonably priced $25.95 for a 12 ounce filet with all the fixings.
                                          It is truly OUTSTANDING! - Can be a little noisy with so many families but it is a tourist area in the summer.  
                                          Arrive early to avoid the lines. Be sure to give it a try when your in the area!

4: The Palm - (any location) Dined at the L.A. restaurant - Steak was outstanding. Soft & tender - Cut like butta.
                      Recently ate at the Las Vegas local and had the filet - Most excellent!

5: Ken's Steakhouse - Natick, MA - Had the sirloin strip and was very tasty - Crisp onion rings - High quality meal at a very reasonable price!

6: Mitchell's - Columbus, Ohio - Everything was excellent - TRY THE LAMB!

7: Library Restaurant - Portsmouth, NH- Very nice room and quiet - Food was high quality with large portions - Hand cut fries were terrific - Tasty desserts - Garlic bread was a nice touch as well! -  Friendly wait staff!

8: Moishe's - Montreal Canada - Great Steaks & Drinks - Unbelievable service

9: Gibson's - Chicago - A bit on the noisy side - Large cuts of beef - Get the Chicago Cut - YUMMY!

10: Abe & Louis - Boston - Stopped in for lunch - WoW - I had the NY Sirloin and it was mouth watering - My wife had the Bone in Filet and that was even better. Try the Vidalia onion rings - A memorable meal.

Frankie & Johnnies - NY & NJ - Steak was a about 20 ounces - Tender & Tasty - Bit overpriced

Ruth's Chris - WORLD'S BEST BAKED POTATO - Loaded with butter so I cannot have it anymore since I am trying to lose weight - Recently ate at the Charlotte, NC location (Jan 2008)
                      Had the filet and it was a bit on the fatty side.

Don Pepe's - New Jersey - Huge Steaks up to 70+ Ounces WoW!

Park Plaza - Boston - Another great choice!

Carlo's - Yonkers, NY - 20 Ounce Steak with Fries for $15.95 - WHAT A DEAL!

Circus Circus Steak House - Las Vegas - Grill is in the middle of the room Steaks are all on view - Great Value!

Sorry to say but Magnum's has closed - Magnum's - Chicago - Very pretty room - Had the Filet then the sirloin another night - Both excellent! First class wait staff from beginning to end.

Also closed in 2009 - Arthur's Landing - New Jersey (River Road) - BEST Garlic Mashed Potatoes - Limited menu - Excellent view of New York City skyline!

Thirsty Whale - 24 Market Sq. - Newburyport, MA - One of the best burgers around. Very fresh with shoestring fries. (Jan 2012)

Roundabout Diner - Portsmouth traffic circle - Have been there twice for lunch & breakfast. Juicy burgers with mashed. Pancakes with bacon & home fries were outstanding! (Nov 2011)

The Galley Hatch, Rt 1 - Hampton - Had one of the best burgers in years in their pub. Recently went back. Everything was excellent including tasty rolls with cheese. (Nov 2011)

Hurricane - 29 Dock Square, Kennebunkport, ME - Burger was just average but came with excellent hand cut fries. (8/17/2011)

Boardwalk Inn - Hampton Beach, NH - Excellent & large juicy burger with tasty fries. Onion rigs were bland however. (6/27/11)

Chatham Squire - Chatham, MA - Had the open faced steak. Nice flavor & tender on Garlic toast. (June 2011)

Purple Urchin - Hampton Beach, NH - Nice chicken fingers & fries - Nice pizza as well - Over looks the band stand! (June 2011)

House of Blues - Boston, MA - Surprisingly good burger and excellent crispy shoestring fries. Great pace to eat before the Sox game. (April 2011)

Beach Plumb - Rt 1 Portsmouth, NH - Just like their place on the Beach. Excellent food and Richardson's ice cream for desert. (May 2011)

Hardcover - Rt 1 North, Danvers, MA - Overall very good. Had the filet - Ordered medium well and came out well done. Still moist. Nice salad bar with excellent loaves of different bread. (2/14/11)

Just went back to the Hardcover last night March 16, 2011 - Ordered the NY steak. It was bad. Had to send it back. Then they brought me a filet. It was mushy and heavily salted. Check this place off the list for now. Prices went up 10% across the board also.

Chop Shop -920 Lafayette Rd, Seabrook, NH - The BEST hamburger that I have had in years. 1/2 pound cooked perfectly & flavorful. We also tried the pizza. Full of cheese and huge at 21". Could have been cooked a bit more. This is a "biker bar" but is very clean inside. Very friendly waitress as well. Can't wait to go back! (July 2010)

Pancake Man - South Yarmouth, MA - DEFINITELY THE BEST PANCAKES I HAVE EVER HAD! - He is the "Pancake Man" after all. (June 2010) (June 2011 Still GREAT!)

Kreme N Cone - 961 Main Street W, Dennis, MA - Amazing onion rings & Seafood. Nice grilled hot dog & chicken fingers also! (June 2010) (June 2011 Still GREAT!)

Dairy Queen - Kittery, ME - Recently had a cheeseburger & fries. Surprisingly excellent fast food. Burger was tasty & juicy. Fries hot & crispy. Forget about McDonald's & the rest! Ice cream is always awesome.

Congdon's Doughnuts - Wells, ME - Best doughnut I had in years. They also serve a wonderful breakfast!

Fat Burger - Anywhere USA - Great burgers & shakes

The Burger Bar - Las Vegas (Mandalay Place) - Kobe beef burgers were awesome! (March 2009)

Texas Roadhouse - 47 Fox Run Rd. - Newington, NH - Decent food but not of the highest quality. Good fresh peanuts and ice cold beer made things better. (Jan 2009)

Prime Time Sports Bar & Grill - 620 Lafayette Rd (Rt 1) Seabrook, NH - Stopped in for a quick lunch. Had the burger and it was one of the best I have had in a while. Excellent steak tip subs too!

Fresh not frozen patty. You also have a choice of fries or onion rings. My wife had the steak tip sub and was also very good. Ice cold beer and good food at a great price. Try it soon! (Dec 2008)

Salisbury House of Pizza - 2 Beach Rd. Salisbury, MA - Pizza is Greek style with the usual grease. Still very good. But the real surprise is the steak tip sub. Lightly marinated and very tender.

I had the large one and it really fills you up! Almost didn't have room for ice cream on the beach. (Dec. 2008)

Emack & Bollio's Ice cream - Just went to one of their Cape Cod stands.WoW AMAZING AND CANNOT WAIT TO GO BACK!

New England Pizza, 92 Portsmouth Ave. (Rt 108) Exeter - The best burger sub sandwich I have ever had. Nice & crispy chicken tenders & fries too. - NOW OPEN SUNDAYS (Jan 2009)

The Ice House - Rye, NH - They serve Richardson's ice cream and better than the normal diner food - Had the double burger and was excellent - Terrific fries and onion rings! - Closed during winter.

The Beach Plum - 17 Ocean Blvd - N. Hampton, NH - They dish up Richardson's ice cream - Large portions by the ocean! - Closed Nov-March

Red's Eats - Wiscasset - ME, Just a little red shack at Water and Main St. downtown - Huge lobster rolls! - Terrific sirloin steak sandwich. - Outstanding fast food!

Petey's - Rt 1A - Rye, NH - Best onion rings I have had in a while - My wife thought the fried clams and scallops where the best she has ever had!
Nice coastal ride to this place. You can eat on the upper deck which overlooks the ocean. A very nice day out. - Now open ALL year!.

Ceals Clam Stand - On Seabrook Beach, NH - My wife also loves this place. Gilfords ice cream too. THE WORLD'S BEST ONION RINGS - Open summer only.

The Rusty Hammer - Portsmouth, State St. - Excellent burgers with your choice of several sides - Not just fries here!

Wilbur's - Rt 1 - Hampton, NH - Best breakfast around! - Always satisfying. Have dined here several times.

State Street Saloon - Portsmouth - One of the best burgers I have had in a while - Friendly waitress - I'm home!

Abercrombie & Finch - Portsmouth Rt 1 - Very nice breakfast brunch - Everything was good & fresh - Nice value for $9.95

Master McGrath's - Seabrook - Terrific fried chicken - Went back and had the chopped sirloin - EXCELLENT!

O'Leary's Pub - Route 1 - Hampton - Excellent sandwiches and the BEST onion rings & more!

Dont' forget about Sanborn's Candy store on Rt. 1 in Hampton & on the beach - Everything is GREAT!

Met Bar & Grill - Dedham, MA - Legacy Place - My wife and I both had the basic burger & fries. Not much flavor. A below average burger. Served with a bun that quickly became mushy.

Fries were very good. High prices starting at $8.50. This place was a rip off of the Burger Bar at Mandalay Bay in Vegas. (11/24/09)

Telly's Restaurant & Pizzeria - Epping, NH - Perhaps the worst pizza that I have ever had. Tasted like it was days old. (8/3/2009)

Ashworth by the sea - Hampton Beach - Hampton, NH - Had the buffet breakfast just a few hours ago. Perhaps the worst I have ever had. Poor service with empty heating trays waiting to be filled.

McDonalds serves a better breakfast. I have had better FREE hotel food! Don't let this place ruin your appetite. (7/5/2009)

Greg's Pizza & Roast Beef - (Formerly Piazza Pizza) -  445 Lafayette Rd. (Rt 1) - Hampton - Greg should have kept the old Pizza recipe.

The Old Salt, Rt 1 - Hampton, Stay away from the meat selections here - Seafood is excellent however.

Hard Rock Cafe - Anywhere USA - The world's WORST hamburger - I had to leave it on my plate. I complained to the management as it was that bad.

Smith & Wollensky - OVER RATED FOOD - Expensive too - Ate at their NY & Las Vegas spots - That's enough for me.

Shaines of Maine ice cream - Anywhere USA, Only the second time that I had to throw away ice cream.

Charlies Steak House - Orlando, FL - Advertised as one of the top ten steakhouses in the country. I rate it as average.
Had to send back side orders as they were over cooked. Horrible wait staff.

Outback Steak House - Anywhere - I cannot for the life of me figure out what the fuss is all about - Just average over seasoned food.

Jimmy's Steer House - Saugus, MA - "Steer" clear of this place!

Hilltop - Saugus, MA - Recently this place has slipped - Higher prices and smaller portions.
